Welcome

Greetings, thanks for stopping by my site. Here you can find my blog, see my latest tweets (look to your right) , and read some of my work, including the short story “The Window” which was shortlisted in a flash fiction contest in 2008, and chapters and excerpts from manuscripts I’m working on getting published.  Also feel free to leave comments and questions on my blog and I will answer and update the sites FAQ pages as frequently as possible.

What’s Going On?

Life is always busy and usually I am juggling several things at once. Presently I am in the process of:

- Revising and getting ready to send queries for Cat’s Revealing.  You can read the first chapter here. Also there is an interesting side note about this story on my blog here.

-I’m still playing with the sequel to Red and Grey, although mostly in my head at this point. On paper I’m working on a stand alone piece that takes place in the same universe but, well, stands alone. The Youngest Brother however is not forgotten.

- As far as Red and Grey  goes, I just finished rewriting the query letter and it is currently under scrutiny with four other writers who plan to give me feedback and let me know there thoughts. The competition with fellow writer Deb Anderson is still on and I have not stopped querying, just taken a break to reexamine my query letter and make sure it is as strong as possible.

-Amidst all that I wrote a short story and will be submitting it to a contest this fall. We’ll see how that goes.

Goals should be attainable, realistic, and within our control right? Not ideals that we have [...]

Merry Book-mas, and Happy December

Happy December one and all. In our house we exchange gifts on December 25th. This year, much like many past years… and many future years I imagine… Christmas had a distinctly bookish theme.
Yes, my family believes in supporting the publishing industry at Christmas each year. We do, after all, have a personal stake in seeing [...]

Home again, home again, and all that jazz

I know I’ve said it before, and I’m sure I’ll say it again, but just for that ever elusive “record” I love the Surrey International Writers Conference (SiWC).
If there is a better conference put on by a more wonderful group of amazing and talented people, I’m not aware of it.
SiWC is the perfect size, not [...]
