Personal
Q. When do you write?
A. If varies from day to day. Sometimes when my kids are at school during the day. Other times after they are in bed at night. Occasionally, on my “bad mommy” days when the story is just dying to be told and I cannot seem to get the world out fast enough I turn on the TV and tune the world out and write while they sit around me watching TV or in the case of my oldest – playing on the DSI. I try to limit those days.
you know – twice a week. LOL
Q. Do you listen to music when you write?
A. It depends – see above. If it is during the day and the kids are at school – yes. If it is at night and they are in bed and hubby is around – no then we usually have the TV on so he can veg while I write. If he is out and about then – yes. All other times – no.
Q. What’s on your writing playlist?
A. I have incredibly eclectic taste in music. I have a little bit of everything on my writing playlist. I have some NIN, some of the sound track to Mama Mia, The Jeff Greer band (look him up on iTunes), Alanis Morissette, U2, Muse, Modest Mouse, the sound track to Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog, Evanescence, Wheezer, The Killers, Depeche Mode… and many, many more. The thing is some bands I only have one or two songs from and others I have the whole album or even multiple albums. It just depends. It is quite a mix of styles and types though and I like that. it fits my personality.
Q. What authors do you like to read?
A. See my links – this is by no means an all inclusive list but it does have a lot of the authors who I enjoy reading myself or who my children enjoy me reading to them. As I was setting up the page I asked my kids to give me the names of their favorite authors and they started showing up with books since they didn’t know author names. I put in the links to the authors whose books they brought me. However I have been an avid reader all my life and an all inclusive list of every author I have ever “loved” would take weeks to make and pages and pages to share.
Q. Have you always loved to read?
A. For as long as I can remember.
